Carved cup in clay

This cup is handmade on the potter’s wheel from a light beige stoneware clay and finished with a small carved detail. The inside and the carved area are coated with a glossy transparent glaze, while the exterior remains unglazed, highlighting the natural texture of the clay.

DIMENSIONS
The cup measures 8 cm in diameter and 5.5 cm in height. With a capacity of approximately 180 ml, it is perfect for cappuccino or tea.

MATERIAL
Light beige stoneware clay from the Westerwald region in Germany. For both firing processes, renewable energy is used.

COLOUR & CLAY
Light beige clay with a transparent glossy glaze on the inside and carved detail.

GOOD TO KNOW
All pieces are carefully handmade in my Hamburg studio. Small variations in size, colour and form are natural characteristics of handmade ceramics and make each piece unique. The ceramics are food safe and dishwasher safe.

Unglazed surfaces have a deliberately raw and tactile finish. To preserve the material, it is recommended not to leave unglazed areas in prolonged contact with oily foods or strongly staining liquids.
